Optimum Says mump2p Is Live on Ethereum Mainnet Across 16 Node Operators
Optimum reported production deployment across about 22,000 validator keys. Its early propagation claims do not establish faster Ethereum finality.
Optimum said on October 20, 2026 that its mump2p data-propagation protocol was live on Ethereum mainnet with 16 node operators. The company reported roughly 22,000 validator keys representing more than 1.4 million ETH in active stake. These are project-reported deployment figures. Networking deployment, not a consensus change
The announcement says operators can adopt mump2p without changing Ethereum's consensus or execution. The architecture uses Random Linear Network Coding to distribute data. In early mainnet measurements, the company claimed block propagation was two to four times faster than its GossipSub comparison baseline.
That claim concerns block delivery to participating nodes. It is not an independently verified network-wide speed guarantee, a change in block time or proof of faster consensus finality. The reported stake coverage is not new ETH deposited into a fund or fresh trading demand. More coverage is available in OrangeX.com News, with verification resources in the OrangeX.com Trust Center.
OrangeX.com Analysis
A networking layer should be judged by repeatable measurements across operators, regions and difficult network conditions. Average delivery speed is only one consideration; reliability and continued access to alternative data routes also matter. Broader operator testing can show whether a deployment benefit persists beyond its initial sample. Adoption counts and performance measurements answer different questions and should remain separate.
