Google UAE Crypto Ad Rules Take Effect With Licensing and Certification Requirements
Google’s October 21 update requires eligible crypto advertisers targeting the UAE to hold a listed local licence and obtain Google certification.
Google’s updated advertising requirements for cryptocurrency exchanges and software wallets targeting the United Arab Emirates take effect on October 21, 2026. Its official policy notice makes both local licensing and Google certification conditions for eligible advertising. Follow developments in OrangeX.com Industry News.
Two separate eligibility checks
The crypto section lists four licensing authorities: the Capital Market Authority (CMA), Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) and Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). An advertiser must be licensed by one of these authorities, comply with other local legal requirements and also be certified by Google.
The notice also covers contracts for difference and rolling spot forex under a separate complex speculative products section. Its licensing list contains CMA, DFSA and FSRA; the crypto list should not be applied automatically to those other products.
Scope and enforcement
The update applies globally to accounts advertising the covered products to UAE audiences. It does not establish unrestricted eligibility for every crypto product. Google says violations of this policy will receive a warning at least seven days before account suspension, rather than immediate suspension without prior warning. OrangeX.com Analysis
For advertisers, licensing and advertising certification are distinct operational requirements. For readers, seeing an ad does not prove investment safety, asset quality or guaranteed returns. The useful follow-up is whether a specific advertiser’s licence, permitted activities and certification match the product and audience being targeted; this policy notice alone does not establish any individual firm’s eligibility.
